Consultancy Charges
The Clinical Information Consultancy Ltd has a policy of openness and publishes its standard Consultancy Charge tariff, without prejudice to individual contractual arrangement with our clients.
Standard Consultancy Fee Rates
| Consultant | Daily rate |
| Principal Consultant | £875 |
| Senior Associate Consultant | £750 |
The minimum contract based on the above rates is 2 days. For shorter consulting and training assignments conducted online by email, phone conference and web-sharing we offer a simple pre-payment Short Consulting and Training Prices.
Note that different rates apply to our on-site training services. For details see Training Course Tariff.
Notes on fees
- Fees are subject to addition of Expenses and applicable taxes (i.e. Value Added Tax within the EU).
- Fee rates are subject to change without notice (except where a contract or similar agreement is already in place).
- Fee rates shown are the charges we make to clients and to intermediate service providers.
- Where our services are acquired as a sub-contactor we are not responsible for setting the rates charged to the client by the intermediate service provider.
- CIC Ltd may offer discounts on our standard rates fees based on factors such as:
- Our level of interest in a particular work package
- The amount of the work contracted
- Closeness of fit with other work in hand at the time of contract.
- CIC Ltd may surcharge fees to reflect the impact of terms and conditions imposed by a client.
- For example, where a client insists that travel expenses are calculated from a location other that the base office of the consultant contracted the fees charged will be increased to offset the cost of travel.
Expenses
Usually the only chargeable expenses are those for travel and subsistence necessary to complete an assignment. Where expenses can be reduced by combining assignments for different clients in a single trip CIC is happy to pass the saving on to clients in an equitable manner.
Travel expenses
Travel will be charged on the following basis.
| Nature of journey | Transport charges | Travel days charged |
| Journeys within the UK | Journeys by road 40p/mile. Journeys by public transport (based on route traveled) either: - lowest available first class rail fare, or - open standard class return rail fare, or - economy airfare Plus (if necessary) local rail, bus and taxi fares required to/from journey end-points. | None |
| Journeys within EU or where total single journey time is less than six hours | Economy airfare Plus (if necessary) local rail, bus and taxi fares. | 0 to 0.5 |
| Journeys to North America or where total single journey time is between 6 and 12 hours | Premium economy airfare Plus (if necessary) local rail, bus and taxi fares. | 1.0 |
| Journeys where total single journey time is greater than 12 hours | Business class airfare Plus (if necessary) local rail, bus and taxi fares as needed. | 2.0 |
Notes of travel expenses
- Travel days are charged at our agreed consulting rate for the assignment.
- Travel within Europe will not incur travel day cost provided we are able to commence the outward journey from our office after 17:00 and 23:30 on the day prior to the assignment and return home by 23:59 on the last day of the assignment.
- Travel days charges shown above intended to cover loss of working time resulting from travel. No recovery time allowance is included. However, if by specific negotiation we agree to a lower class of travel, the travel day figures will be doubled to allow for associated post travel recovery time.
- Where expenses related to assignments for more than one client, the expenses will be shared in an equitable manner between the clients.
Subsistence expenses
Subsistence will be based on actual costs for accommodation and meals while the Consultant is away from his base office. No charges will be made where meals are provided by the client. If the client recommends or arranges a comfortable and convenient hotel, any client arranged discounts will used to minimise costs to the client. However, in all other cases the Consultant reserves the right to pass on reasonable charges for his own selection of accommodation and meals.
