Short Consulting and Training Tariff

CIC Ltd recognises that many people and organisations have requirements for limited input that fall outset our normal consulting arrangements. These requirements include:

• CliniClue^® support
• Short web-based training courses
• A limited amount of expert input and advice on SNOMED CT^®, HL7^® or other aspects of clinical informatics.

To address these requirements we have introduced our short consulting and training tariff. This page describes the services we offer, the rates applied and the conditions of service delivery.

These short services are delivered by email, phone and/or desktop sharing. For on-site services or longer term assignments please refer to our standard Consultancy Charges and Training Course Tariff. Our general consulting and training rates usually provide a more economical solution for anyone requiring more than two or three days of our time.

This short assignment tariff requires pre-payment for a block of one or more hours of time. The rates depend on the type of service and the amount of time purchased (see the table below). This pay-as-you go approach allows you to decide how much of our time you need to resolve particular issues without requiring a more detailed contract or a longer term commitment. We require pre-payment for these services to keep our administrative overheads on small contracts to a minimum. Short assignment services offered by CIC Ltd

1. Email Support for CliniClue^®
   • Our lowest priced service addresses the needs of a people and organisation working with CliniClue our freeware terminology tools.
   • This service applies only to questions directly related to CliniClue software. It does not cover general questions or issues involving SNOMED CT or any other aspects of clinical informatics.
   • The basic service only covers support questions received by email from a single named person. If more than one person is to be supported a small additional flat-rate charge is added to the rates quoted.
   • All responses will indicate the time charged and unused support time. In all but the most exceptional cases, we will address issues raised provided your account still has some unexpired time. Once the time has been used up, you will have the option to purchase further time on the same terms.
   • Our target turn-round time for support enquiries is two working days.
   • If for any reason our response is sent more than four working days after receipt, it will not be charged against the contracted time.
2. Email only consulting
   • Applies to services involving provision of expert advice including but not limited to:
     • Responding to questions within any of our areas of expertise.
     • Reviewing documents, software or other materials submitted by a client (standard non-disclosure terms apply).
   • Turn-round time for responses and time taken and chargable depends on the nature of the requested advice.
     • We will be pleased to discuss your requirements and agree an appropriate level of service.
3. General short consulting
   • Includes consulting undertaken in our offices and using email, phone conferencing and desktop screen sharing over the internet (using GotoMeeting) to communicate with clients or other consulted parties.
     • The client is responsible for participants phone charges during conference calls.
     • No more than 14 screens will be able to participate in the desktop sharing.
     • CIC Ltd does not accept responsibility for time lost as a result of difficulties with internet connection and configuration.
   • Does not include use of any prepared materials except
     • Materials developed in the time allocated for the consulting assignment.
     • Publicly available materials relevant to the assignment.
4. Web-based training
   • Includes
     • Desktop screen sharing over the internet (using GotoMeeting)
     • General preparation and use of our standard prepared training materials.
       Additional preparation time may be chargeable for customised training assignments.
   • Allows any number of participants subject to the following conditions:
     • The client must not charge participants or other organisations without the prior written agreement of CIC Ltd.
     • The client is responsible for phone charges of participants.
     • No more than 14 screens will be able to participate in the desktop sharing (one or more of these may be projected to involve more participants).
     • CIC Ltd does not accept responsibility for time lost as a result of difficulties with internet connection and configuration.
5. Mixed service packages
   • You can mix and match services from these packages and benefit from lower charges for subsequent hours.

Short assignment consulting and training rates

Notes on fees

1. The quoted charges apply to a single purchase. Lower rates for subsequent hours do not apply if the additional time is purchased separately.
2. A single purchase can include a mix-and-match selection of services.
   • If you purchase a mixture of the services types, charges will be calculated so that you only pay the higher rate for the first hour of one service. Similarly if you purchase more than five hours in total, the cost of hours over this time will be charged at the appropriate rate. The more expensive services will be calculated first (see example below).
3. Payment of the relevant fees must be made by Google Checkout™ or bank transfer prior the commencement of the assigment.
4. Fees are subject to addition of applicable taxes (i.e. Value Added Tax within the EU).
5. Fee rates are subject to change without notice but such changes will not apply to services already purchased at the time of such a change.
6. All unused time covered by these terms expires twelve months after payment under these terms. However, when a service covered by these terms is purchased, the expiry date of up to two hours of previously purchased unused and unexpired renewed and will not expire for twelve months after the new purchase. This renewal provision will also apply to expired data provided that the new purchase is made no more than thirty days after expiry.
7. Our standard Consultancy Charges
   • Apply to all consulting contracts involving travel or other expenses.
   • Are available on contracts of two or more days duration.
8. Our standard and Training Course Prices
   • Apply to all on-site training courses
   • Are available for courses for one or more days
     • Half-day courses are also available with a small discount from the one-day rate.
