Terms and Conditions for CIC Ltd Training Courses

Conditions applicable to training course quotations and bookings

1)       Quoted fees are for a specified course delivered at a venue provided by the customer on a mutually agreed date.

a)       Course fees are not subject to additions in respect of travel, subsistence or other expenses.

b)       Quotation is valid for 60 days from the quotation date.

c)       All charges are subject to addition of standard rate VAT.

d)       Course fee quotations are location dependent. Unless otherwise agreed in advance, the venue must be within five miles of the centre of the named town or city.

2)       The venue booked by the customer must provide:

a)       Seating with desk space for all attendees.

b)       Acoustics that allow the tutor to be clearly heard by all attendees.

c)       A computer projection facility of a quality and size that allows all attendees to read text down to 16 point font.

3)       Booking dates for courses

a)       Provisional bookings will be made based on email acceptance of a quotation.

b)       Firm bookings will only be made following receipt of formal confirmation in a manner acceptable to CIC Ltd.

c)       The preferred method of confirmation is an official Purchase Order referencing the quotation. Alternatives including a signed contract, letter of engagement or prepayment may be accepted where a Purchase Order is unavailable.

d)       Unconfirmed provisional bookings will be cancelled fourteen days before the date of the course.

e)       Bookings cancelled or postponed by the customer after confirmation are subject to a cancellation fee. The cancellation charge is the cost of any pre-booked non refundable travel and subsistence costs incurred by CIC Ltd as a result of the booking plus a percentage of the course fee calculated as follows. 7-14 days before the course 10% of course fee. 2-6 days before course 20% of fee. Before 12:00 noon on preceding day 50% of course fee. After 12:00 noon of preceding day 100% of course fee.


4)       Fees quoted for a "Standard" course include:

a)       Four teaching sessions each of ninety minutes duration on a single day. Unless otherwise agreed the course will start at 9:30 and close 17:00 with two short breaks and a one hour lunch break. (Note: The course fee will not be reduced if the course is shortened due to non-availability of the venue or attendees for any reason.)

b)       Provision of PDF format electronic copies of handouts with four slides per page. This material will be sent to a customer specified email address no less than three working days prior to the scheduled course date.

c)       A licence to distribute electronic copies of the handouts to all attendees and/or to print copies of handouts. (Note: Printed handouts will  not be provided by the tutor).

5)       Fees quoted for a "Customised" Course include:

a)       All items included for a "Standard Course".

b)       A premium related to reorganising, adding to and re-orientating the course to meet a pre-stated customer requirement. The premium covers part of the cost of preparing the customised version and does not include transfer of copyright.

c)       Editable copies of the presentations used in the course.

d)       A licence to reuse the presentation, subject to a requirement to acknowledge CIC Ltd as the source and copyright holder in any such reuse.

e)       Agreement by CIC Ltd to repeat the same course for the same organisation at a reduced fee. Unless otherwise stated, the reduced fee for repeats of a "Customised" course, without further modification, is the same as the fee for a "Standard" course at the same location.

6)       Unless otherwise stated all services will be invoiced after delivery and payment terms are 30 days from invoice. A surcharge of 1.5% per month is added to overdue invoices.

7)       These terms and conditions may only be varied by a specific note of variation in the quotation and any such variation shall apply only to that quoted item.
