From the East

This route goes close to the town centre and may be slow in rush hours. Consider passing Reading on the M4 and using exit 12.

1. At M4 Exit 10 follow signs for Reading A329M
2. After 2 miles follow signs to town centre A4.
3. Pass Royal Berks Hospital (on your left)
4. Turn right (signed Caversham)
5. Turn left onto dual carriage way known as the IDR (Inner Distribution Road).
6. Follow the IDR past Oracle shopping centre (on right)
7. Do NOT take branch to left signed A33
8. Take the next left slip road (signed A4 West)
9. At top of slip road take first exit left (signed A4 West)
10. As you go up the hill away from the town take the right lane
11. At the traffic lights turn right into Russell Street/Tilehurst Road
12. Keep left past petrol station - into Tilehurst Road.
13. Follow Tilehurst Road for about a mile
    • crosses over the railway bridge
    • pass one mini-roundabout
    • pass a no-entry road on right
14. Take next right (after the no-entry) into Cranbury Road
    • Cranbury Road is as steep one-way downhill street
